Trouble pumping at work?

Okay mamas, I'm about to pull my hair out!!! I am a teacher and went in a couple of days this week to work on my classroom before school officially starts. (Truthfully, I'm stressed to be back at work.) While I have been able to pump well over the summer, I am struggling to pump at school. Right now at least, I have time and space to pump, it's just that my output is not the same. Or, at least not what I think it should be with out the extra output of breastfeeding during the day because LO is in daycare. I know that I'm producing because after pumping for what felt like basically around the clock, I am sitting here breastfeeding my baby. I'm so frustrated! Am I alone here?? Advice appreciated!

Drink lots of water. Try not to think or look at work. Watch videos or look at pictures of baby. Good luck momma!

Bring in a worn shirt from baby, and a pic of them. Try a few breathing exercises and massage breast while pumping. Dimming lights if possible helps too. It is a very psychological process to have a let down.

This is my second week back and I feel the same as you...I am not happy at all. I wish I didn't have to work until after I was fine breastfeeding

I was having this same problem, and yesterday I was in panic mode because I have been back to work a week and haven't been able to keep up with baby.  Today I called the lactation consultant, and she had some suggestions that I'm excited to try! She said to keep pumping for a couple minutes after you stop getting milk and this will hopefully signal another let down and try breast massage/compression while pumping.  She also said that just in the past few weeks she's had several moms tell her they've been taking milk machine by euphoric herbals and they are getting great results and love it. She said he hasn't had time to research it yet, she's just heard it recently.  I'm thinking of trying some, has anyone used it before?

I had to start using heat on my breasts about 5 minutes before pumping and let baby nurse on the breast that is giving you less first

I can pump a ton from one side but very little from the other. I'll get seven ounces from the left and maybe two from the right... Anyway, I know there's a ton of milk in the right because LO gets it EVERYWHERE when he eats :) I think it's because that side is softer.. Something about that makes the pump less efficient.

I've also noticed that I can get more milk if I use a manual pump because I can mimic LO's eating speed and use a gentler technique that seems to work better (hope that makes sense).

I've been compensating by topping him off in the morning before I go and having a super feeding session when I get home. Pumps just aren't as effective as our babies!

Have you tried looking at pics of your baby or watching videos of them while pumping? I've heard that can help a lot. :)

I produce way less now that I am back to work! It's very annoying and I worry I am drying up. I try oatmeal, fenugreek, and lactstion cookies that have increased my supply a little bit. Hope it gets better
