Picky eater?

My nephew is almost 4 and purposely doesn't eat food at dinner unless its exactly right. He says "I'm not gonna eat this, I'll just go to sleep and eat breakfast in the morning!" Just to avoid it even if he did say he was hungry. (Because he likes cereal and fruit better).

I'm just wondering how normal this is and if anything should be done or just wait for it to pass. Its been going on since he was a baby.
