Protein while pregnant?

Hi everyone, I'm 23 weeks 2 days pregnant and so far I'm about 50 pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight. I was in the hospital 5 times during the first 15 weeks for severe dehydration due to hyperemesis gravidarum. I threw up 35+ times a day for months and even ruptured my esophagus. It sucked, but I'm better now and am only sick a few times a day and some days not even throwing up at all! But I'm still losing weight, even though my baby boy is measuring ahead. My doctor wants to see me put on weight or suggested being admitted to the hospital next month if I don't improve or keep losing :( she said the best way to do this would be to have a lot of protein, but since I can barely keep down solids I'm kinda stuck. I LOVE smoothies and the place I go has a lot of healthy options, one is to add 22g of whey protein to your smoothie! Could I get this? I read mixed messages on whey protein during pregnancy and thought I'd ask here. I really think it would help me because I can keep down smoothies really good. Thanks for reading this long post lol!
