Just got off the phone with my short term disability people. I work at a huge corporation and 6 weeks at 60% of my pay. I'm due oct 17 and I was going to stay on leave until January but there is no way i can do that.

Why is maternity leave now short term disability anyway? Im not disabled?! Iv been with this company for almost 9 years now. One of my coworkers has been with this company 20 years and about to retire and we were talking and. He told me maternity leave used to be 90 days fully paid with this company. Not anymore.

I know i know im lucky to get some of my pay but i wasnt expecting only 60 percent of it. "Yes, 60% of your pay is enough to care for a newborn."?!
