Help please?

I went to my appointment today expecting some kind of check down below because I haven't had one since the early stages. I am now 33 weeks. But that didn't happen.

I tried to explain to my SO how I felt but of course he doesn't understand. So please, any advice?

I don't know the correct terms for parts of a vagina so bear with me. The tip part of the Vj that's usually closed is now open. It feels like my whole vaginal area is swollen and irritated. It doesn't itch or burn but I fear it may someday. Or is it normal to experience this at this point of pregnancy? When I told her it felt swollen all she said was it happens and went on about how some women get some type of veins down there and that was it.
