Just started to use formula... when making daily batch, after you boil water and make formula do you let it cool before placing in fridge? If so, how?

I don't boil the water either. I use a filter pitcher. I always have 6-8 full bottles in the fridge ready to go. I can't imagine making every one fresh on the spot, my LO is not cool with waiting! Lol! Plus she sometimes wants more than 4oz and it's nice to have as many bottles as I need right there.

My understanding is, as long as the baby hasn't started drinking from it, formula is good in the fridge for 24 hours. If she has started drinking from it, then it's an hour from when she starts. Although I've been known to fudge that. If she drinks one oz of a 4oz bottle and is going to be hungry again in a couple hours, I'm not wasting 3oz of formula! That stuff is hella expensive! I'll pop it back in the fridge as soon as she stops eating and it's always been fine.

I think of formula like milk. Would I want to drink a glass of milk that's been sitting out for half a day? No. Gross. But a glass of milk that no one's touched that's been in the fridge overnight? Yeah, I'd drink that.

Ultimately, just use some common sense and go with whatever makes you comfortable. If you want to boil the water and make every bottle fresh and throw away the excess immediately, go ahead! You're the boss, mama. :)

We don't boil the water. The pediatrician said our city water was fine, so we use it filtered from the fridge, warmed to room temperature. We either make the bottles fresh as we go at room temperature, or for daycare, we make them and put them in the fridge and the daycare deals with warming them.

I make bottles as I go. I boil water every morning and store it in a Thermos to use throughout the day. My LO drinks 4 oz so I will use 3 oz of room temperature bottles water and 1 oz of boiled water. He likes his bottles warm and I find that to be the best temperature. I've been doing that since 1 month and he's been fine!
