FTM!! PERIOD??

So I'm a ftm how long till your period starts? I'm 3 days pp so probably too soon but I also got stitches so how did that work ??

Answer

You'll know when it's your period again versus pp bleeding. If you have stitches, near the end of your pp bleeding you'll also get some mucousy clear/yellowish discharge that's part of the healing process (think about if you scrape your knee and get a scab, what it looks like when you shower). Stitches take about 10 days to dissolve. After that, the bleeding will stop, and when you get your period it'll be the normal brown to red. I stopped pp bleeding at 2-3 weeks with both kids and for my first pp period 7-9 weeks. I did not breastfeed or pump at all.

Postpartum bleeding usually lasts 6-8 weeks and your period can start soon after that around 6 weeks or sometimes it won't come until you stop breastfeeding/pumping, so could take many months/year.
