Help?!

Question

Any tips on getting my one month old daughter out of the 4am habit? She likes to wake up at 4 and want to stay awake! She doesn't like her swing at that time or want to lay down on her back she just wants to be held and look over my shoulder. She stays up till 6 then only sleeps till 8 and it's making me EXHAUSTED!
I've tried keeping her up during the day but I seem to be failing 😤 any tips for this tired FTM?

I agree with the others that keeping her awake during the day is not the way to go. This is actually really normal for one month olds. The suggestion of having her on a feeding schedule could work. I would also recommend making sure that when she's napping during the day, you don't give any lights or make anything quiet for her, just keep all the noise levels normal and the room is bright and sunny. When she goes to bed at night, have room darkening shades and make sure everything is dim and quiet. You should also be taking her outside for at least 20 minutes before 2 o'clock every day, the sunshine helps her body set it's circadian rhythms (so that her body knows what is day and what is night). You can also try doing a dream feed before you go to bed yourself.

At one month old the more she sleeps during the day the better she will sleep at night.

She is a bit too young to be expecting her to sleep on a schedule or to a set time.

If you make sure she's only ever for maybe 1 hour max at a time in between naps x

Trying to keep them up during the day can actually work opposite of what you would expect. So I definitely would discontinue doing that. Could you go to bed earlier to make up some lost sleep? Does she wake up at 4 because she is hungry? Do you have her on a feeding schedule during the day? Sometimes if you schedule feeds for example every 4 hours around the clock it helps.. You could try to wake her to feed around 3 and see if she falls back asleep after.. She may be waking from hunger and for some reason 4 is her magic number, so she wants to be up longer... Disrupting that could potentially help.. But definitely no guarantees
