Has anyone TTC while breastfeeding?

I have been trying to pump less at night in hopes of encouraging a cycle but if I wake up uncomfortable I usually give in and pump. LO has been refusing to nurse for a few weeks now because he prefers the bottle (I know how to prevent that with baby #2 after more research) so I'm just pumping. But I'm only 5mo PPD so I wasn't sure if anyone had successfully gotten pregnant on purpose this quickly. I know it's soon but we want 1&2 close in age and yes I'm aware of the risks and all that, I have a family full of medical professionals. Just wondering if not pumping between midnight and 5-6am worked for anyone. Thanks!

Back story (short version): hubby and I have fertility issues. I am hypothyroid and have a brain tumor so I don't ovulate well on my own and hubby has low numbers and motility. We did fertility treatment (IUI and clomid) to conceive our first son.

When we got the all clear at 12 weeks PP to try to conceive again we were told that given our fertility issues and the fact that I was exclusively breast feeding that it would be almost impossible to conceive naturally. So at 6 months PP hubby and I went with the idea of "if it happens great, if not we will do treatments again later."

I would nurse or pump every 5 hours even at night. (I got my period back at 4 months PP) we tracked my ovulation and we found out at 8 months PP we were pregnant. (Was pregnant the first real month we tried)

Not only did we beat the odds with our fertility issues but we did it while breastfeeding and we even conceived twins. Naturally. Our pregnancy did end as a singleton pregnancy around 9 weeks in but we are now 37 weeks pregnant with our second son.

Just because you are breastfeeding doesn't mean it won't happen. Just keep having sex. If at minimum have sex every 3 days that way you don't miss ovulation. That's what we did :)

I got my period at 4 weeks pp, even though I EBF. it also has to do with how ready your body thinks you are to have another baby, so making sure you're getting really good nutrition can help.

It will happen based on yor period- I got my period 4 weeks pp while ebf and got pregnant at 6 weeks pp.

Every woman's body is different. Some woman have to completely stop Nirsing for their periods to come back and even then it could be months after they stop  while
Others get theirs when they are producing the most while some just need to slow down production.
