Any remedies for vomiting?

I suddenly got sick last night after dinner and spent the evening in the bathroom. Now today I am throwing up after a bite or two of food. Does anyone have anything that helped them with severe nausea and vomiting? I've never had to deal with this before, so I'm not sure what to do! Any help is greatly appreciated!

Yes. Here's some tips! I have had hyperemesis both pregnancies now & this pregnancy I have gotten in under control & im able to enjoy food. This is what I have done to be able to work with what I'm eating:

I was sick week 6-15! 
Week 6-15 constant vomitting. Doctors visits & hospitalized later to go through 4 bags of fluids & had to stay 2 nights over night. My doctor told me to: 
#1 drink plenty of water. I drink 2/3 32oz glasses of water, if you use a tervis cup you can do 4 of them a day or more so to give you an idea that's 24oz times 4 a day! 
#2 getting sick involves a number of things being pregnant so my doctor prescribed me a vomitting med for around the clock so 2/3 times a day along with an acid med to help with digestion & a stool softer to help me be regular. All of this helped me very much. 
#3 I also prop my pillows up right to kinda sleep half up and half down. This helps with the acid build up. I only drink water my whole pregnancy with ice or ice chips. 
#4 wear loose maternity clothes or bigger sized shirts along with breathable underwear and yoga type material pants to help with sweating & having issues with swelling or even being uncomfortable. 
#5 don't eat big large meals. Eat 5/6 times a day. So 2/3 small snacks in between breakfast lunch & dinner. This helps with the food settling right. Make sure you eat bland, non greesy foods.

I did all this. & since week 15 my sickness went away. I occasionally will get the headaches, swelling & naesated feeling but haven't thrown up but twice since week 15. I'm 23 weeks Saturday.

I've read where smelling rubbing alcohol helps with the nausea.. Hope it gets better for you!!

I'm 26 weeks and STILL sick.  My doctor prescribed Diclegis which helps a lot, but I'm going to try the B6 and Unisom cocktail tonight as I wait for my doc to sign my refill order. 🙄  
I'm still wearing my SeaBands and eating way too many carbs (especially potatoes) - but both help me a lot!

Any remedies for vomiting?
