Getting 1 and 2 year old to take a nap?

I have 2 kids one is 1 and the other is a newborn and I have my God son who is 2 today but they just will not go to sleep it's nap time and I'm going crazy any suggestions on what will help?

At the daycare I worked at we'd always turn off all the lights, turn on some soothing music and just sit with them and rub their back or head until they fall asleep, always seemed to work well especially after playtime

My son is 3 and when its nap time and hes not wanting to sleep we just turn it into quiet time where he just has to lay in bed for a bit to give everyone some me time but most of the time he just whines and cries for a few mins and then nods off we have a jack and jill room we share so he knows we are always next to him whenever he needs us we just dont give in esp if we know hes just as we call it bitching to bitch like hes going to miss out on his fav tv shows hes seen millions of times
