Does anyone have advice on polycystic ovaries please?

We've been trying for just over a year now with no luck. I've been going to the doctors and saw a specialist this morning who diagnosed pos. 
They've given me a prescription for metformin. Anything else j can do to help too? Thanks in advance for the advice ladies xx

A healthy diet with help balance your hormones. Any weight loss will help if needed. I have been putting cinnamon in everything because it balances insulin levels.

I also have PCOS. Was diagnosed about a year ago I've been seeing Drs since. I was also put on metformin and given clomid to see if it's regulate me and blah blah blah well it didn't work clomid did nothing for me. I finally was fed up enough and asked for a referral to a fertility clinic. I got in super fast and just seen the Dr yesterday. He went over everything with me. He took me off the metformin. He said unless I am diabetic it will do no good. He's come up with a game plan of trying clomid one more time at 150 mg days 3-7. If that doesn't work we are going to try letrozol. He said some people who clomid doesn't work for letrozol does. If that doesn't work we will do injections and an IUI. Just because a Dr gives you a medication doesn't mean it's best for you. I found the gyno and my regular Dr. Didn't take the time to actually listen to me and hear my symptoms they were just pill pushers. So be careful. Diet is also huge with PCOS. I am over the mood happy to be being seen by the fertility clinic as they show they really care what's best for you.

I also have PCOS & have been ttc for 14 months now. I just saw a fertility specialist this morning & he prescribed Clomid. I started taking it this evening (cycle days 5-9). I have very irregular cycles & I haven't ovulated since tracking my cycles (months & months). I'm really hoping & praying Clomid at least helps me start ovulating again. My husband has a very low sperm count, so we're needing a big miracle at this point!
