6 days late, Neg pregnancy test, Took an OPK and it showed 2 lines?

I have heard that an OPK can pick up HCG but I'm not sure! Have any of you ever taken an OPK after a missed period and it showed you were fertile only to get a BFP later? Please share your experiences!!
