Is it worth it to go all natural?!

So the more I'm Reading and realizing so
Many women have done it- given birth- with no epidural and survived I'm wondering if I should just go for it! I am
Seeing that labor take less time and you push less when you are not numb!? What are your thoughts , advice and experiences! 
Also my mother insists I go all natural- but I don't care what she says lol !

My 1st baby. I had an epidural.  
My 2nd baby, a natural home birth.
I believe 100% that it is worth it to have a natural birth. I remembered every second and it was better for me to feel in control. Because I trusted my body and how I felt, I did not rip like w/ my 1st baby. It was empowering to have a natural birth & I'm ready to do it again this October. :) :) good luck.

I just had my 6 baby with my oldest I had the epidural I think it took longer to have him but then I noticed that he was not as awake as the other 1ns that I had with out! U have to go in with a strong mind and ready to do it with out pain meds! But it's a wonderful experience!  I even got to help deliver my son he is gonna be 2 months. U can do it!

It's good to have a plan in place but ultimately baby and your body will decide what is going to happen, I ended up getting an epidural so I could sleep but it didn't take and so I felt everything, was an amazing experience, most people don't realize you are only in pain when you are having a contraction, then it goes away until the next one.

I went natural and was the best choice for me. You can try and if it works out then great if not you can ask for pain killers. I was in a birthing centre so epidural wasn't even an option. The way I see it is women have been giving birth for thousands of years- our bodies are made for it so we can do it. I had such a quick labour and delivery. It was painful of course but bearable, it's worth it knowing you'll get to meet your baby soon. I also got sent home from the hospital 7 hours after giving birth so it's a quicker recovery time too. Do what's best for you, good luck.

I wish I wouldn't have gotten an epidural! I ended up getting one at almost 8cm I think I could've stuck it out. It's alse been causing me back problems since but everyone is different

I planned for a natural labor and staying home as long as possible while laboring....but then my water broke before contractions started. Ended up at the hospital barely progressing, and 16 hours later once contractions kicked in I had the most terrible back labor. I had a labor pool and the pain got too intense to be handled. They ended up giving me pitocin for failure to progress. At that point, I opted for the epidural because I could not stay focused or get my body to relax. I was disappointed at first but as soon as it was placed, the epidural made a huge difference. I'm glad I did it because it allowed me to rest when I otherwise wouldn't have been able to...I didn't start pushing for another 9 hours. I ended up pushing for an hour and a half, and I definitely did feel the urge to push. I will say that I am now battling with a terrible spinal headache from the epidural. I do think that ultimately the epidural was the right decision for me just because of how long I was in labor. I will definitely go for a natural both with my next baby.

I wanted a natural labor with both babies and ended up getting the epi both times (for different reasons). Plan for a natural labor, be prepared, hire a doula if you can (I did and she was awesome!) and just go into it with an open mind. If you're in the hospital you can always ask for the epi if you can't handle it.

You could always try! I tried but I gave into the pain and I'm not trying to be discouraging. I got the epidural and ended up pushing for 2 hours. You could manage the pain with meds other than the epidural. You may be loopy though.

It's only worth it if you feel you can handle it. No need to put yourself through all the additional stress pain and emotions. I did with my two and plan to with my third but things happen. Complications happen. Do what's best for you. You're not any less of a mother because you birthed a different way. Especially when that different way is safer and healthier for the baby's and your wellbeing.
