How long would you wait for a proposal?

If you are in a relationship, how old are you and how long would you wait to be proposed to?

I am 25, he is 26, and i feel like after 3 years, there would be nothing else to know, you either want to or not and another 1, 2 or 5 years probably won't make a difference? We are 2 years in at the moment and are about to move in together.

I'm 20 about to turn 21, he is 22 and we have been together since I was 16. We have been dating for 4.5 years, living together for 2.5 years. I've talked about it,  he gave me a promise ring on our one year. Said one day he'll replace it with a real ring. I think he's just waiting until he's financially ready to make it actually happen. ❤ I still love him regardless of waiting anxiously for him to pop the damn question already 😂

I think you're taking the right steps. A man knows by 2 months if he would marry you or not. Now how honest he is , who knows but you. I feel like most happy married men say they knew within a matter of months if they would marry their woman or not. I'm currently 24 and my SO is soon to be 24. We've been together for 5 years. Lived together for 4 years and have baby #1 due this Christmas . He has expressed his love and interest of wanting to marry me, and make me his official wife. We're waiting to accomplish some other things before walking down the aisle. He going to finish school, I'm pregnant, and financially we want to be in a better position before we take the time and effort for that big commitment. I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you haven't had the discussion yet, ask him. Do you know if he wants marriage and shares the same vision as you? TBH some men are with a women for years and don't think about marriage because they don't want it, and are content with just having a life long gf. I think if this is a concern, have that talk with him. Express you're not pressuring him, but you have plans for your life and want to assure you guys are on the same page. It would be better to know how he feels now than spend years with him and find out later. Marriage and kids is important to me, and my SO probably would've never thought it was for him before we met. The love we share is beautiful and I made sure we had this discussion ahead of time. As much as I love him, I wasn't going to waste my time if we didn't share the same life goals and values. Give living together some time. Dating and living together teach you whole new things about each other. You find out all of the quirks and habits that you may not have learned about while dating.  Just remember that compromise and patience are key the first year of living together. Good luck!

It depends but I was with my now husband for 5 yrs already and when we were both finished school and relatively stable, I was giving it 2 years then moving on... He proposed after 1 yr. it also depends on age to me... Depends when you want to have kids and I was thinking about how I would turn 30 soon, knew marriage is what I wanted

Me and my husband have been together for 9 years. Engaged at 6 years and just got married this last May2016. I was 17 and he was 18 when we first met. My bestfriend and her bf have been together for the exact amount of time (day an all-our guys are bestfriends so kind of cheesy lol) but no engagement ring. This has caused her such frustration since she moved in with him. He keeps running out of excuses that shes fulfilling I feel bad for her. I think if your in your 20's 4 years is enough to really figure someone out. I still learn new things about my husband till this day. But id say at 2 years I knew his goals, habbits, behavior and what he values. My other friend just got engaged age 24 together with her fiance for 5 years.

We met when I was 22, he was 27. We moved in together, just after being together a few months. He proposed 7 1/2 years into our relationship and Got Married at 9 years together. In that time, we got a jump start on our careers, bought a house, adopted two furbabies and traveled. I wouldn't have changed the way we did things. It was def worth the wait :)
