Menstrual cramps

I have just recently got my period back after being on the depo shot for two years. Lately I have had excruciating pain during cramping, I've tried the midol, heating pads, ibuprofen 800's, rubbing my stomach, nothing has seemed to help and it makes it even harder to sleep. Any advice, or home remedies?
