Breastfeeding/formula

Has anyone else's little one puke like crazy when breast feeding. And he's eating between an hr to an hr and half but acts hungry all the time. But when I give him formula he'll sleep solid for at least 3 hrs and doesn't puke. But everyone pushes for breastfeeding but I'm beyond scared to let him out of my sight or lay him down because he pukes so much and he's so quite. What do I do ?
