Opks getting darker?

My opks are getting a tiny bit darker every time I take them but they are still faint. What does that mean? Does it mean I am getting ready to ovulate or does it even matter?

They slowly get darker and then you'll get a positive.

Yes ma'am! This test isn't positive yet, but the closer you get to a positive result the more progressively darker the test line will become. LH is present at all times in your system, so when you notice the line increasing in visibility, it indicates LH is increasing as well. Which is precisely what OPK's detect... The surge in this leutinizing (sp?) hormone. Keep testing and you'll probably get your positive soon (when the test line is just as dark, or darker than the control line)! Every woman is different when it comes to their LH surge: Some women have lower amounts in their system to begin with, so won't notice much of a line (if at all) until their actual surge, and then, BAM!... out of nowhere will get a blazing positive OPK. Other women have higher amounts in their system, and so will notice the test line getting progressively darker until a positive is finally confirmed. This can get a bit tricky when trying to determine if a darker test line from the previous days is indeed an actual positive, but the most important thing to look for is when that line appears equal in intensity to the control line, if not darker than it. Once you receive your FIRST confirmed positive OPK (as it's also not uncommon to receive multiple positive OPK's after your first initial one, and is the reason why manufacturers suggest to discontinue testing after that first positive is confirmed), you can expect ovulation to occur within the next 24 to 36 hours thereafter. So, to make my excessively long answer shorter (sorry LOL!): You're doing everything right, and the fact you're seeing the line getting darker just means LH levels are increasing as you are nearing your time of ovulation. It's a good sign, and you'll probably see it continue to get darker as you near your surge and receive a positive result (which I imagine will happen very soon!).
