Tongue tie clip?

I just found out at my sons 1 month appointment yesterday that his tongue is tied at the tip. Don't ask me how I never noticed before lol. Breastfeeding has been impossible, and now I kind of feel a little weight off my shoulders because I was feeling extremely guilty about it not working for us.

Anyways, we are considering getting my LO's tongue clipped to help with speech and eating down the road. Anyone have experience with this?

My 2 year old was tongue tied. My mom noticed it right away because I was tongue tied too. We tried to see if his tongue would stretch at first. We went to see a specialist at 8 weeks but he would not clip it because my son was too active and he wanted him under general anesthesia. He had it done at 6 months and he was just fine. I worked with a 5 year old little boy who was tongue tied and you could not understand him. His mom refused the surgery. I know the thought of a procedure is scary but in the long run it is  better to have it done.

I just posted about this recently lol! My daughter has a posterior tongue tie we are getting clipped Thursday. I feel much more comfortable getting it fixed now than seeing it possibly cause issues down the road. I felt the same relief knowing the issue now.

My son is 8wks and we just got his clipped Friday. It was fast and we haven't had a problem since.

My sister had bad tongue tie when she was young, but they didn't figure it out until she was 2 and couldn't talk...so she spent years in speech therapy trying to retrain her tongue after it was finally clipped. Getting it fixed early should help avoid those troubles!

My oldest (7) is tounge tied. We knew right away but he had no problem latching so the pediatrician didnt recommend clipping it. Luckily he has never had any problems with speech either. That being said he has, in the last year asked to get it clipped because he wants to be able to stick his tounge out as far as his brothers. So I kind of wish we did it when he was a baby and wouldn't remember the pain.

My son had his tongue clip two days after birth. He is a month and half. His doing great. I tried to feed him before he was clipped,  and we both became very frustrated.  So daddy and I decided on getting it clipped

Following! My daughter has a tongue tie that we noticed right at birth. Was told breast feeding would be difficult but turns out She has been an excellent breast feeding baby. I am worried clipping the tie will make feeding difficult after (with her new found range of motion). Any experience with this ladies?

My baby was tongue tied and it was clipped at 2 days old in the hospital. No issues

We just had a tongue & lip tie revision. Her tongue wasn't bad and they thought she could actually outgrow it but her lip was pretty bad so we had both lasered. I would do the lasering and make sure it's by a preferred provider in your area. There's less blood with lasering. When it was done, she cried for a little bit and whimpered. We had it done 4days ago and she has seemed fine since the first day. She is j comfortable and cries a little during the stretches but that's it. We haven't had to give her Tylenol, only the baby naturals orajel. The revision won't be a cure all - my babe still needs to learn how to latch correctly.

Wow that's crazy they just noticed it!!  I recommend joining the tongue and lip tie group on Facebook.

Is it a posterior or anterior, do you know??  If your pediatrician is recommending it and you are uncertain you can always get a second opinion.
