How long were you in labor when you were induced?

Question

I might be induced because I'm high risk. I really wanted my birth to be as natural as possible but an induction is the OPPOSITE of natural ( yay me 😭). I've heard mostly of long labors from people who were induce & i want to know if there were any short labors. I also want to hear your birth story & how you felt about it.

1st baby - water broke but I didn't progress so the Dr's started pitocin. Took 12 hours on that then by the time I was finally 10 cm, I was so extremely exhausted from the contacting the pit gave me. Took me 3 1/2 hours to push her out. The Dr's didn't even suggest I walk or do anything else to stimulate labor before/during the pitocin. Felt very unnatural.

2nd baby and went to a different dr (after many bad experiences with the first group). Had to be induced at 37 weeks for medical issues. Did cervadil and walking. Took 2 doses of cervadil and 10 hours of walking/bouncing on a ball until I got to 4 cm and they broke my water and I got an epidural. 10 hours sounds like a lot but it was so easy and actually relaxing compared to my first delivery. Hubs and I just walked and talked and laughed (was like being on a date and didn't have our 2 year old talking our ear off). After they broke my water and I got an epidural, I got a low dose of pitocin in my drop. But didn't feel it and was able to take a nap. Woke up from my nap, they checked me and I was at 9 cm. 10 minutes later I needed to push. 3 pushes later and he was born. So so much easier and the whole thing felt so much more "natural" than my first. I think because I wasn't put directly on pitocin and told to lay in bed and wait. I was active in getting my labor started and my Dr gave me time to get to a good start before starting the pit.

I had to be induced and for me personally was the worst experience ever. I went in because I was really itchy at 38 weeks and they were afraid it was a symptom of something that would hurt my son. So they induced me that night with cervadil which goes behind you cervix and hurts like crazy!!! They leave that in for 12 hours. So I waited 12 hours and I was only dilated to one. So I had to wait 12 hours to get another one. They finally put another one in and I waited the 12 hours again. This time I was only dilated to 2. So I waited another 12 hours and they were talking about just sending me home because I wasn't progressing. I told them after all this and if they think something could happen to my son I'm delivering him and not leaving!!! So I stayed and they just basically let me progress on my own. About 12 more hours later I was to a 5 and they finally gave me pitocin to speed the process up. Another 12 hours and I was probably only to an 8 and they were saying they would just have to do a csection. Well I think my son heard them say that and within 30 minutes I was dilated to a 10 and ready to push! I pushed for about 20 minutes an he was here!! That wasn't the end of it. I was hemmoraging and they couldn't find out where from and I in excruciating pain. Basically I was bleeding and my cervix wasn't doing the work it was supposed to too stop the bleeding.

I went to d doc one nite at 10:30pm.. wasnt hurting bad! was induced d next morning at 8:00am.. Had him 12:46pm..

Was induced Oct 18th around 7 pm. Son wasn't born until the 20th at 6:50 pm. Almost 2 days laboring with zero sleep. I told my ob for my second son that I would refuse induction if it came to it. Luckily didn't have to wait and find out. This is my 3rd pregnancy and I'll tell my midwife the same if it comes up as an option though I'm hoping she isn't as quick to suggest it as an OB might be.

I was induced. I had to wait for the hospital to call saying there was space for me! (I go to what I think is the best hospital to deliver babies)

I got there between 8-9 am. It took awhile for them to start me on pictocin. Had to get changed get in the room the iv. I think they had to give me a medication through the iv before the pictocin.  So at first it was really a waiting game. Eventually got started on the pictocin. I found it hard to walk around and use the toilet since I was 41.5 and had an iv attached to me. I labored for hours. I wish I remember what time it was when I started the contractions. At some point the broke my water. The nurse used something very loong that sort of looked like a knitting needle!after everything started it was a blur for.me. when it was time to push. I refused to let them give.me.an episiotomy.  So I tore.

I think it was 845pm the same day when my little boy made an appearance.  I tried like a.minute later to push out the placenta. Was told to just wait since it would come out on its own. I cut my.babys cord myself. I had no partner only family as a support system.  I felt it was important for me personally.  Holy crap was that hard to do after giving birth to a child!

All in all it seemed like forever but was less than 12 hours from.start to finish.  Just alot of waiting in the start.

Really hoping this one comes naturally and I labor at home before heading to the hospital

I know my story isn't extremely detailed but it was about 8 yrs ago and I'm a bit fuzzy already lol. Hope your induction is easy!

5 days  sat at 4cm 😥 I dread it this time , everyone's like oh itl go much quicker 3 days would be quicker I fear it ( the also wale me up every hour to test my blood so no sleep )

I was induced with my first and was in labor for 16 hours. I had an emergency c section with my second and I'm hoping for a smooth VBAC this time around. I don't know of anyone that had a fast induction 😔
