Dumb question??

Question

This may or may not be a dumb question but many people as am I are on Medicaid insurance. I'm due in February and not sure what will happen to my insurance or hospital bill after a new president is in office? My only worry is not having different insurance by the time the new presidents in office and screwing myself on L&D costs? Anyone else worried or can help me?

Medicaid coverage is enforced by the state.  Unless the federal government were to completely cut off Medicaid funding (won't happen, even if congress is controlled by conservatives though not all want to abolish Medicaid) nothing will happen in January or February, maybe even later in the year if at all.  States will still have Medicaid funded so don't stress over it.  The only way your coverage would be dropped or you would be moved to a different coverage type is if your financial status changes (or you forget to send in your paperwork, that happens a lot).

And before anyone just thinks I'm mooching off the government and what not and can only say negative things I'd rather not hear it. I'm only trying to figure out what will happen afterwards as of now I'm fully paid for L&D just wasn't sure if they'd take that away after new president. I'd just like to plan ahead and get on different insurance if that's the case now so I'm not stressing later

I don't think anything would happen fast enough to change your coverage. They don't take office until January. Also, I think there are exceptions for pregnancies where your coverage from beginning to end is the same even if your plan changes. At least that's what I have been told about private insurance because our plan shifts a little every year in January.
