Midwives???

What are your inputs on midwives?? Any experiences??? What do u prefer MIDWIVES or HOSPITAL??? And why???

I have a midwife who operates within a hospital and it's perfect for me! My first birth was great and I'm looking forward to my second soon!

I am delivering at a hospital but having a midwife instead of a doctor. I love my midwives they're all super awesome. It's actually what I plan on becoming in the future.

I'm doing both! My hospital has a midwifery program!!! So I get all the benefits of having a midwife while giving birth in a hospital to help ease my worries. I'm a volunteer doula at the hospital and I LOVE the way the midwives work and treat their patients. It's a much different interaction than the OB group has with their patients. Not that the OB group is bad, but it's not what I'm wanting in my birth plan. Although it's right for other people. That's why I made the decision I made

I plan on going to hospital as this is my first baby and I like the idea of knowing that if something goes wrong I am literally a lift away from surgery and Drs! If everything goes okay however it will be led by midwifes and no Drs X

I'm having a home birth with a midwife.  I knew that is what I wanted,  but after watching videos of hospital births and home births I realized just how much I needed that to be my choice.  To me hospital births seem so........  Violent,  for lack of a better word.  The mom's screams sound like they are dying.   All the home birth videos are so peaceful.  The mom's moan and groan but it's not the same.  It's more laborious noises rather than distress.  Women are designed to give birth squatting....  That's as natural as it comes.  Laboring and birthing on your back is completely unnatural and counterproductive.  When you squat,  gravity helps you get your baby out.  When you are on your back,  you have to do 100% of the work.  It really blows my mind that women would choose the more difficult and painful route,  but to each their own.

Had a midwife my first two births at a hospital and loved the experience. I have a obgyn this time and not enjoying it is much, not as personal.

I see a midwife, her office is through my hospital so I will still be giving birth at a hospital. Though she is going to be the one to deliver there is always a doctor on standby at the hospital just in case they are needed. I would not have it any other way I absolutely love it. I seen a doctor in the beginning and switched after the first appointment with him.

This is my 3rd baby & i have had bad experiences with midwives as they often think they know whats best but dont as they do not have a medical degree so i have gone hospital so if anything goes wrong you are there & can get the proper medical attention as needed, id rather be safe than sorry when it comes to the life of me & my baby
