Here's a tip for you mothers and fathers out there, with older kids in a serious relationship.

Be kind to your son or daughter's current significant other, whether you like them or not. Some day, they may end up marrying that person, and then they may end up giving you grand children. If you wanna act like a jerk, remember that it WILL come back to bite you in the ass when you want to have a relationship with those grand children. You can't be a crazy asshole to someone for years and then suddenly try to play happy family because there are kids involved.

If only my father in law could read this 12 years ago. Jerk.
