Should people bring there kids to baby shower ?

We are having about 20 adults at our shower and all together about 9 kids ranging from 1-11

I got invited to a kid free shower and I didn't go. If you're not welcoming kids to your shower why are you having one!?

I won't vote here because I have a somewhat biased opinion, as I've never been to a baby shower where children were invited. It was viewed as an adult party, with some people drinking wine and a lot of dirty/off-color jokes being told. Every new mom liked being able to open their gifts without several small children trying to open them first.

I've never been to a baby shower where kids were brought. It's not that they aren't welcome I just think most people I know leave their children at home so they don't get bored.

It totally depends on your preference. I've been to both kinds, but in general I prefer to go to a shower alone. I brought my daughter to a few as a baby (before she turned 1, as we were exclusively breastfeeding) but honestly, I don't think she'd have fun at one anyone. All those toys and none for her?? Lol.

We had a family and friends shower back home where we invited all the kids, but it was only about 6 ranging from 3 to 16 (most of our friends don't have children). My friends shower here where we live did not include children either (though only one woman had any children).

All that to say, it's honestly up to you. There's nothing wrong with having an adult-only baby shower.

I would suggest hiring a babysitter(s) and plan a couple of activities for the kids, preferably outside or in a different room.  That way everyone can attend and be comfortable.  Y'all might want to talk about things that some of the women might not want to talk about in front of the kids.

I have a friend that always hires a babysitter when she plans get togethers where there will be multiple children attending.  She puts out a jar labeled 'babysitter' and people contribute whatever they can.

Never understood why people had BABY showers and kids weren't invited. Its not a bachelorette party, bridal shower or wedding. It should be kid friendly, not a lot of liquor because mom to be can't drink. What's the big deal?

I've never been to a shower where there WEREN'T kids. So I always expect them at any shower I go to.

I dont know I never personally had one... but I remember going to many as a little kid with my mom....I always found it so fascinating. I loved babies and all of those baby things..... I remember it being the girls came with their moms.. the boys usually stayed home.  Now I have only had one friend have a baby shower and I brought my daughter and 2 month old son and there were 3 other 6-7 year old daughters there and 2 other young baby boys.
