Contracted an STD at 17 and I've been dealing with it ever since but how do I tell my partner I have one? Idk if they'll be scared and leave or what will happen

Umm that's a tough one in a way, especially since you have to tell them by law.

"Hey um, so in the future, any time that we may have sex we'll need to use a condom."

"Okay, that's fine, but why?"

"I got blood work done the one time to screen for STDs and such. Turns out I have *insert STD here*. I found out and thought before anything happens you should know"

You have to tell them. It's just the right thing to do and the most responsible thing to do. If it's something that won't go away such as hiv and if your partner got it, you can be legally held responsible if you knew and didn't tell your partner. Just practice safe sex and tell your partner and take full dose of medication. Good luck!
