Strep b? Advice ladies

14weeks preg and found out I have strep b. Any advice or info? Xx

My doctor caught it around the same time. Gave me an antibiotic to take every 6 hrs for 3 days and then said she'd give me some during delivery. And said not to worry that with the antibiotic my baby will be healthy. I say trust your doctor and don't stress over it too much

I had it with my last two pregnancies. They just give you antibiotics when you're in labor every 4 hours. If they treat you before it can just come back, which is why they do it during labor. I'm lucky that my water breaks when I pushing the baby out, so they aren't in contact with any bacteria for very long. Then they'll monitor the baby for a couple days to make sure they look good and don't get a fever. I was concerned about having a reaction to the antibiotic bc pregnancy can make your body react to things differently. I mentioned my concerns and they said they'd keep an eye on me and they can stop the iv anytime. It ended up being fine. For one of my deliveries I didn't make it in time for the iv, and she's fine. Try not to worry, but definitely bring up any concerns to your doc.

I had it with both of my boys. They gave me oral antibiotics when they found out I had it and then when you go into labor they give you antibiotics through iv.other than being pumped full of fluids during labor there is really nothing different. With my second son I didn't get to the hospital in time to get the antibiotics so they had to keep him in the hospital for 48 hours to make sure he was fine. Everything turned out good though :)
