Possible to have found out gender at 12 weeks???

I went to the ER at 12+2 for bleeding- all is well, but the ER Doctor said he thinks it's a boy and I saw what he was referring to on the ultrasound. (It really looked like boy parts!) My OB said no way- it's too early to tell, but then I saw a video saying the nub forms into girl or boy parts before / around 12 weeks.... IS IT TOO EARLY FOR THE DOCTOR TO KNOW AT 12 WEEKS?

Please comment if u had something similar happen and the 12 week finding was correct or incorrect.

It was confirmed Saturday- the ER dr was right, it's a boy! 😁💙

Looks like I guessed wrong! We are having a girl! Just goes to show that the anatomy at 12 weeks really is too early to tell 100%!

The genitals look the same until about 15 weeks. The longer you wait for ultrasound the more accurate it will be. You can do blood test as early as 9 weeks. Check out this picture to see what I mean about them looking the same.

I'm in the same boat sort of! I went in for my ultrasound at 12 weeks and just asked my doctor to peek at the parts. He said if he had to guess he'd say boy but then warned me that it's not for sure because the girl parts can be so swollen to where it looks like boy parts. I find out for sure on the 13th and I'll be 17 weeks! Below is the picture of my ultrasound at 12.3

This was my daughter at 12 weeks 5 days, 
so don't judge based off nub.

To tell based on the nub theory only, not on what the parts look like but how they are angled. Both my last and this pregnancy were identified correctly using this theory. Had my boy confirmed for sure yesterday at 16 weeks :) it's only 80% accuracy at 12 weeks with nub theory though. Gender scans (even at 20 weeks) are never 100% accurate
