Extremely Irregular

So since January of 2016 I have had irregular periods and spotting. And when I say this I mean that I can bleed a heavy flow for about two weeks then for about two to three months I am spotting or have a light flow. I have gone to the dr and a specialist and they found a cyst. But after the cyst went away I started passing clots. Some small and some about the size of a nickel or quarter. I understand that weight has a lot to do with it being irregular but to have a flow for months at a time?

Does anyone else have this problem?
