I saw my OB at 38w4d and she checked me for the first time and I was already 3 cm and effaced and she was surprised and said she thinks I will definitely go soon and not make it to my due date! Prior to the appointment I had no expectations, in fact, I am quite aware that I am likely to go past my due date especially since this is my first. Well, ever since my appt I've been hoping that contractions will start or my water will break but nothing different is happening! She totally got in my head!! I have another appointment my today, I'm 39 weeks 3 days now, and am trying so hard not to expect anything but deep down am reallllyyyyy hoping I've progressed some. I almost wish she had just checked me and said, it will happen when it happens 😂
