Period already?

So my bleeding had completely stop around week 3/4 and now I'm 1 month and 3 days pp and I'm bleeding bright red blood and having mild cramps it feels like my period has started back already. Is that possible? I'm Breasdfeeding and expressing milk

My son is 2 months and I'm on the pill as well as ebf and pumping and I got my period today.

It's possible but it's probably still afterbirth bleeding. I'm 3 weeks PP and some days have no blood, and then it comes back again. My last birth I bled heavily for 6 weeks, on and off, and ended up with a hemorrhage. Turns out I had retained placenta and needed a suction D&C to clear it.

Keep an eye on the bleeding, see if you're passing any clots. You should have your 6 week check up soon so mention it to your doc he may want to do an ultrasound to make sure you don't have clots or placenta fragments.
