Pregnancy Cold Remedies?

Question

I've been suffering with a horrendous cold for a few days now. Sore head, blocked nose, no voice, shivery, the lot. I phoned the pharmacy you said I was pretty much limited to throat sweets, Vicks and paracetomal.

Do any mummy's or mummy's to be have any remedies that is baby healthy?

Answer

I caught a summer cold (work with kids as a teacher so....).  I immediately drank 1 glass or orange juice in the am and in the pm.

Gargle warm salt water at night before bed (kills any infection in your throat or ears even).

I also took 1 garlic and 1 zinc vitamin a day.

Absolutely NO cold food or drinks...  Room temp to hit only.  Chicken as a protein really does help, as do vegetables.  I had a lot of soup and hot tea.  I slept MORE whenever I could and try to get a little exercise every day (helps strengthen your immune system).
