Pregnancy support belt?

Hey ladies :)

Last couple of days I have been experiencing pains - doctor / modwives reckon it's ligaments stretching causing bump and lower back to be in pain. Someone has suggested a pregnancy support belt. Has anyone had experience with these & do they help?

They help a hole lot I was having such bad nerve pain I couldn't get up. This is the only thing that helped me sleep in 40wks btw

I got a support belt from Motherhood Maternity and it helps a lot when I'm standing/walking. My doula recommended I try not to use it when I don't really need if, because it can put pressure on the baby and discourage them from getting head down.

That actually makes a lot of sense to me because when I'd sit with the belt on I felt like it was squishing the baby until he'd move outta the way. So now I sit on a yoga ball when I'm at work, which seems to help with the pressure on my hips.

I bought one weeks ago as I was having pains and yes it did provide relieve.  A message therapist also gave me a move my partner could do to gently lift my tummy for a few moments and that felt heavenly. But then I saw a physiotherapist and she told me I wasn't using my abdominal muscles properly so I started to be aware of that and it has helped tremendously, I haven't used the belt in weeks. I hope I can keep that up but I have the belt in case :)
