Midwife vs doctor?

I recently filled out a form to get a midwife. Wondering what the significant differences between midwife and doctors are? By that I mean in your experience with them / appointments etc. Which did you like better?

I went to a practice that had both, and where they made a point of having you see all of the providers so that you would know whoever it was that was on call when you went to the hospital. I had a midwife attend my birth until there were some complications, and then a doctor became involved and monitored, but didn't push interventions. I think it has more to do with which doctor and which midwife and the overall philosophy of the practice/hospital but you're going to.

Midwives are more personal. Also, there is a significantly lower chance of needing a C-Section with a midwife delivering rather than a doctor. Doctors generally lean toward medication and cutting. Midwives generally lean toward natural remedies (and obviously still epidurals if you want one), but if something goes wrong, they quickly have access to a doctor.

I am 22weeks pregnant and I wish that I had an option to have a midwife. After watching "the business of being born" on Netflix that's all I wanted but bc I am high risk my insurance wanted me to go with an OB. If u have Netflix try watching it and see if it gives u any insight on the difference between the two.

I had a doctor with my first! I have a midwife now considering this is my second pregnancy! Honestly from my understanding the only difference of the two is that a midwife stays with you in the hospital when you are there, they help more with comfort and what not. Also midwifes do home births a lot too. where with a doctor they are in the hospital they deliever your baby and that's like the last they see you that day or night. That's really my only understanding of it
