Deodorant at what age??

My daughter is in 3rd grade this year. She told me her teacher told the class to make sure they shower daily and to put on deodorant if they wear it, because they all get sweaty after recess. I can't remember when I first started wearing deodorant 3rd grade seems young!!! What grade did you start wearing deodorant?
