This wasn't true for me, other than about 10 pounds I lost due to the delivery of my daughter, placenta and water weight, I didn't lose anymore weight until I completely weaned her.

I hate to say it but it's not always as true as you would hope! I was 8stone pre pregnancy, and went up to 10 stone by the day I gave birth. I stayed at 10 stone for a few weeks and then slowly lost a few pounds. Baby is now 6 weeks old and exclusively breast fed as she always has been, and I'm only now 9 stone 8!! Meaning breast feeding, the baby, all the blood and waters - only lost me 8pounds!! Some people don't lose weight until they stop breast feeding because your body holds onto fats!

I never lost weight breastfeeding. Actually, after 6-9 months I stopped bc of teeth and felt i was gaining weight. I'm 5, 5 and 140 prepreg so I'm not small or big but the extra 35 pds weighed me down emotionally and physically.

Yes breastfeeding stripped me of my weight...I was even skinnier after breastfeeding then I was before I got pregnant!! Idk about other woman but it worked for me!
