Is our National Anthem awful after all? I had no idea about the 3rd stanza. 💀

"No refuge could save the hireling and slave. From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave” — “literally celebrates the murder of African-Americans”?

So we're glorifying keeping poor people down, killing slaves who were brutalized as as human cattle, and we only started using it officially in 1931 (a Jim Crow era). 🤔

As some say in CC, what in the actual fuck? New anthem, please! 🇺🇸
