A great car seat that will last you is the Cosco Scenera next convertible car seat! It's a 3 in 1 car seat. Works for newborn as small as 5 pounds to a child as big as 40 pounds. The price is around $41-$43 at Walmart. :) The price is around $41-$43 because some colors and patterns are 1 or 2 dollars cheaper while others are 1 to 2 dollars more. :)

Baby trend snap gear car seat..sold only at target. It's super good quality and I love it! I believe it was $120. I feel like the expensive ones are no different from it :)

I got Graco SnugRide 30 for $76 at target. There's an EvenFlo for $50 at Walmart but I have the Graco stroller so Graco SnugRide matches the set.
