How do you know what position your baby is in?

I don't have another doc appt until I'm 36 weeks (currently 34) and just trying to figure out how I can tell what position my little boo is in.

I feel hiccups in my pelvic/butt area. I get small nudges below my belly button but huge painful kicks above my belly button close to my rib area. He's been head down since 18 weeks from what my US have said and the way I feel his movements. I'm 33 weeks :)

I only know from what my doctors have told me. They just use their hands and feel around my belly to locate the head and booty. The other day my girl was curled in a ball on my right side with her head near my left side hip area. Totally not where she's supposed to be at 36 weeks. So no we are having an ultrasound to check it out and see if she's gonna go into head down and her size bc sometimes once they get so big it's harder for them to turn. Even tho I think I feel her doing cartwheels in there.

I only know from my midwife appointments! She started checking his position at 28 weeks ish, he's been head down since then

One of the nurses at my doctors office said you can tell based on where they put the doppler to hear the heartbeat. If it's low on your belly the baby is probably head down. If it's close to your ribcage the baby is probably breach.

Diagonal! I'm 33 weeks, measuring 34. He's been in this position for a while now. I've been in the hospital for a  fluid check, anatomy scan and a stress scan. All three times, he's still in the same position. Sounds like I'm having a C-section 😔 I understand we have until 36 weeks to wait until he moves position, but he's been in this position for a while now, don't think he'll be moving.

I feel his butt on one side (I think) and hiccups in the middle. Last time I saw the midwife he was head down. AHHHH this is so hard, I hope he's still that way! Thanks everyone.

Hiccups way down low is how I could tell, that paired with what felt like a booty rather than a head constantly pushing on my belly above my belly button. Dr confirmed with a quick u/s.
