Wrong or right?

Question

My friend was texting during class, and yes I know it's a bad thing to do and she shouldn't have done it. The teacher took her phone and I guess her boyfriend was texting her at the time and teacher replied to her text breaking up with her boyfriend. My friend had no idea this happened until it came around lunch.
She was waiting outside his classroom waiting for him so they could walk to the cafeteria, and he was confused and being rude to her. She didn't know why so she asked him what happened and he brought up how she apparently broke up with him over text.
Her phone was taken away for the rest of the day so she wasn't able to look back on it to see anything. They argued a lot during lunch trying to talk things out.
At the end of the day she got her phone back and read through the texts and it said things like: 
- I'm breaking up with you
- I don't have feelings for you anymore 
And things like that. They've been dating for 2 years and they "broke up" because the teacher was pretending to be her.
She told her parents what happened but all they said was: that's what you get for using your phone in class.
She and her boyfriend are okay now, but it still bothers them how a teacher would do that....

Report them to the administration. I had my phone out through out all of my classes and if a teacher wanted it I'd walk to the principals office instead of hand it over. The teacher was way out of line and should face repercussions.

If the teacher actually did that then she was definitely in the wrong. You may have the authority to take their phone away but you don't have the right to get into the phone and impersonate the owner

If it was the teacher, that was definitely wrong. But can you prove it was the teacher? Did she lock up the phone while it was confiscated?

The teacher shouldn't have done that. He had no right. But if it was my daughter I wouldn't mind either. Shouldn't have been using your phone in class sooo yea.

Teacher was more then wrong, you do not interfere with personal builds was as a conciquence. 
Aswell. Kinda fuck the boyfriend for still ending it after she told him it was the teacher. True lover would have believed and moved on!

He had a right to take away her phone, but had NO RIGHT  to use her phone to text her boyfriend that. It's not his property, I think you could actually call that invasion of privacy.

That's incredibly fucked up on the teachers part. Confiscating her phone was fine, using it at all was not. It's unprofessional, and she should be ashamed of herself.
