Mixed Babies?

My husband and I are trying for our first baby (picture below). Please keep rude comments to yourself, I will love my baby regardless. But I was wondering, what are the chances that our baby will have my hair? All his family has the same kinked, coarse, curly hair. All my family has the same straight fine hair. I've never worked with kinked hair before, and if we have a girl, I would really love to do some cute hairstyles. That will be easier with hair like mine because I've had experience working with it before. So what are the chances that they'll have my hair? Thanks guys

I am also expecting a mixed baby I am black hubby white arab.  DNA is like the lottery you just never know what you will get.  Regarding hair I am not good with styling so will just get someone to do it for me if a girl regardless of hair texture.

A lot higher than you think! All it takes is him to have ONE gene that matches yours, and voila!  And nobody is 100% pure. Most likely, at least one of your children will have his hair texture and your hair color.  Hair is also one  ofthose tricky things that changes drastically over time. My brother's hair came out bright blonde but darkened  to black. Mine was  the opposite. My husband and I are also interracial, and I am crossing my fingers and hoping for blue eyes, especially after meeting TWO people who had one Chinese parent and one Caucasian parent.

Usually the first born will take on the dad's qualities. Second born takes on mom's and after that any more will take on both evenly for most part. Btw y'all are a beautiful couple and I hope the best for you both! Your baby will be gorgeous.

You never know until baby is born. Also their hair and complexion can still change with time. Here is my son, so far his hair is straight.

It all depends and you probably will not know for sure until baby is a couple months old.  My niece (white and black mixed) has very tight curls, but mommies fine texture.  It is cute!!  You WILL have to do research (or go to salons) to figure out what shampoos and hair products you can use, but there are a lot of things you can still do.  :)

It's a 50/50 chance. I'm the opposite of your relationship. I'm mixed race and baby's dad is white. I'm thinking he will have curly hair as he grows up. Just because most mixed children I've seen have the curly hair

I have incredibly thick kinky curly hair and my husband has wavy, loose curls. I think we can say with certainty our babies will have some form of curls on their heads 😍 at least they better, bc I have no idea what to do with straight hair!!!  Either way your babies will be beautiful.

his hair is more dominant, as curly hair is dominant over curly hair. chances the baby will have his hair are high. but no worries, you'll learn quick as babies hair at first are obviously a lot easier. as your baby grows and as their hair changes so will your practice with their hair. I have extremely curly and volumous hair (I'm completely Hispanic) and just learned how to take care of my own hair when I was about 15 (since my mom took care of it beforehand). it is a process but you're at an advantage of being able to grow and practice as your baby grows and develops as well. it will not be the end of the world!

Your kids will probably have hair closer to this then his hair because he looks mixed. (I could be wrong just an observation) it will most likely be curly but not kinky. All my kids are mixed race. The little boy is mine and my husband i am 1/4 black and white and he is half and half. My daughter's father was white and she still got the curls but her older brother has their fathers staright hair. With your husband being half and half and you white i think your kids will have close to the same texture as my kids.

I've always heard that hair is determined by the maternal grandfather, but for all I know that's just another old wive's tale...it could be 50/50. I wouldn't care regardless. There are tons of cute hairstyles that can be done with your husband's coarse/curly texture. I have extremely coarse/thick/wavy hair and still manage to get it soft enough to manage. You'll learn to work with what is given to you :)
