Family booking flights to see newborn? ✈️

My parents want to fly cross country to see baby in her first few weeks. They don't plan to be here for the birth. I'd hate for them to spend $ on a last minute flight booked when I am in labor or something but booking now for two or three weekends after the due date (DD) seems weird too. What are y'all doing?

My mom is flying cross country 4 weeks after baby is due and staying for 2.5 weeks. Mostly because that is over Christmas and new years and she will joining the celebrations for that as well. She did a similar thing last February when my sister had her baby. Baby was born the 28th of February but she flew down about 3 weeks after baby was born because it also coincided with my older twin sisters birthdays and joined in the celebrations for that.

My mother originally planned to book for the day before my due date. When I went to the doctor one week before and the doctor said she thought he would be here "within the week", she booked for the Sunday (I was due the following Thursday). On the Friday, when I called here and told her I was going to Labor and Delivery, she changed it to Saturday. He was born Saturday morning, and she arrived Saturday afternoon. It worked out perfectly.

My mom is flying in on my due date and staying two weeks. We are hoping he will come out by the end of the first week, but if not, she may change her flight home.

My pretty much sister in law(not married just yet but she definitely is considered) is trying to book a flight during her school break for just her which will happen to be after the baby is born even if I'm late thankfully. 👌🏻

Last minute booking is cheaper due to the airline's trying to sell off the last seats on the flight. My mom and her fiance booking their flight as soon as I'm officially in labor:)

My mom is coming 10/17 and my due date is 10/10. She knows it's possible the baby won't be here yet but she's ok with that as she hasn't been out to visit in a while. Hopefully everything goes smoothly and baby arrives on time.

They gave be 10/6 based on my 2nd ultrasound and 10/12 based on last menstrual cycle. So my mom is coming 10/8 -10/20 :) we always fly southwest they have specials like 69$ one way check it out.  And you get your first 2 checked bags free and I person like that there's no assigned seating :)

My DD is 11/4 so my MIL and SIL are flying out the week before thanksgiving. I figure if baby comes early, that'll give us a solid three weeks without much company, if he comes late we'll still have some time to get settled at home before they arrive. My immediate family all lives 10-60 min drive away, so they'll be around right after he's born.
