The first of many firsts!

She
A lot of firsts for me now, I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right spot to begin with, as this is my first Glow post. I don't know most of the acronyms used, I have only managed to remember a few along the way. We started ttc a year ago, with absolutely no idea!! My doctor said she thought best time was about 2 weeks before next period, and then just keep trying for a few days around that time. I installed a period app (clearly not what I should have been using) it kept changing my cycles, losing data, and didn't help with anything ttc related. It was only after some months of frustration, and having my data skewed too many times, that I came across Glow.. It was a relief to find this app, and actually begin to understand what we needed to do - I know that makes me sound silly, but when you've spent your whole adult life trying not to conceive, it's a very big change in thought process, and actions. So, armed with the daily information given by Glow, I slowly started to pick up the daily tasks, one at a time. It was so straight forward, and helpful! About 6 weeks ago, I started measuring bbt, and even bought an ovulation kit - neither of which I'd ever heard of before. The pharmacy assistant shared some information about things to check for/do. My first ovulation test was negative, I think I overdid the test time, my 2nd test never happened, and I promised myself I'd be better equipped for my next cycle. Thinking we may have to go down a very long path, I booked us in for an information session on ivf, but had to cancel because my husband had to work back. Thinking that this cycle was probably a complete loss, I persisted anyway, and used the dates stated by Glow - 4 of them that gave the best %, and then a few others because it seemed like a good idea :) Glow told me I was due for my period last Friday, I looked back through my cycles, and figured it must be out by a few days, because there was no sign of a period. So, Saturday and Easter Sunday come and go, still nothing. Shops are closed, and I'm wondering if it could be ... I go to the chemist today, lots of pregnancy tests to choose from, most of them say you need to test first thing in the morning - I've waited all weekend, Idon't want to wait any longer! I choose the Fist Response test (3 pack, just to be sure), and I come home. Wait 5 hours until I think I have enough to test with and .... I get a BFP within 20 seconds of setting the test down. I still waited until the 3 minute timer finished though. I woke my husband up, and showed him the test. It took him a minute to realise what he was looking for, but the smile on his face was worth every second. So, we're no longer ttc, just waiting for this news to actually sink in and feel real! And I still have no clue what's next, but I do know that I wouldn't be typing this post without the use of the Glow app! So, sincerely .... thank you. Thank you for educating me, and guiding me, spelling out to me in simple terms the small but important things I needed to do to get to this point. I quite literally mean it when I say "We couldn't have done this without you"
