Can my OB office do this?

So I have been hearing rumors that they do not allow non married people in for appointments. As in, I would be able to come in, but not my boyfriend.

Seeing how I am not married and don't plan on being married, but have been with my SO for years now, you can see how this is disheartening.

Another rumor is that they push for the non married maternal last name to be on the birth certificate.

I have my first appointment at 7 weeks, in two days, and plan on discussing this but I feel like this should be illegal. Can they do this BS?

My insurance only wants to go through this OB office. And not another for 50+ miles.

We live in iowa.
