Nurses?! Water breaking advise.

Question

I'm a home health nurse and I am about 4 weeks from my due date,  I plan to keep working for a while but I keep thinking what would I do if my water breaks while I'm at a client's house,  most of them wouldn't even be able to clean that up and I doubt I would be able to either! Lol this is like my biggest fear at this point.  Has anyone else dealt with this?

Mi water broke with my first baby and I did not even wet my clothes, just the undergarments. As soon as felt the wattery discharge I went to the bathroom, change and put a pad and went to the hospital. There was not a super abundant gush of liquid, actually, there was nothing to clean up.

Maybe start wearing big pads ? And most woman say that the contractions don't start right away that they had time to do stuff !

I was at work when my water started breaking and it was just a trickle until i got to the hospital then it gushed

From what im hearing it's not a huge gush usually. Maybe jutmst wear heavy pads or even depends lol. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do I guess

You would very highly likely be able to clean it up ...  and if you were in tha much distress toh would likely call an ambulance or something anyway.. which I am sure they could assist with anything thereafter. With 5 pregnancies.. my water never broke 3 were broken for me.. 2 were  broken as baby was on their way out so it may never break for you. Try not to worry... I know thats a ridiculous statement because i worry about everything .

With my first it broke at the hospital, but it was a very large amount of fluid! Lol I may have to look into the heavy pad idea 😂
