What do you think of the name Wally?

So if we have a boy (which I think we are) we're using Enoch as a middle name because it's a traditional family thing. I want to incorporate my family as well. My mother's maiden name is WalendIewicz (wall-in-jev-itz) and everyone has always been called wally so I thought it would be a cute first name. My mother in law thinks it's weird and of course my husband takes her opinion seriously even though he loved the name before he told her. Ugh. I want a name that's not too common but not too crazy. What do yinz think?

It's not my favorite for a first name, but do what you want. I think it's a good nickname, but not a formal first name. What about Walter or some other variation?

This was my dads nickname in the Navy (last name Walters).

I think it is a good nick name but not a good actual first name.
My nephew born in February is name Wallace and we call him Wally all the time. You can always pick a longer name that can get shortened to Wally as a nick name so it still has that family significance and still looks more respectable on a resume than "Wally".
