when to go to hospital

Went to the hospital yesterday but was sent home because everything was moving really slowly and contractions weren't painful. Woke up this morning and contractions are INSANE. Some of them are the worst pain I've ever felt. (Never thought I'd be happy to be in this much pain lol) but I'm just wondering when is the best time to go to the hospital? My water hasn't  broken. May have leaked but not broken. I want to labor at home as long as possible but don't want to leave too late. How many minutes apart dos you guys wait until to go to the hospital? I'm so excited😍 40+2 today and READY to meet my girl.

This was helpful. I didn't lose my mucus plug and my water didn't break with my first. I went to the hospital when my contractions were lasting one min and happening every other min. I was 9 cm and my daughter was born 1 hour after we checked into the hospital 😆

I was told to go in when they are 3-5 minutes apart and have been that way for 1-2 hours, or to go in right away if my water breaks or I think it broke. Also I'm pretty sure your water leaking and water breaking are pretty much the same thing, not everyone has a big "gush", some women just leak.

They have apps for tracking contractions that will advise you on when to go in based on the pattern
