boyfriend calling me names when he is mad 😕

So I have been in an relationship for over a year with my boyfriend he treats me very well and he can be super sweet the only thing that bothers me is everytime we get in a fight his words can be very hurtful he will say your pathetic or your stupid etc I know we are fighting but even when we do I don't call him any names no matter how I mad I get..... I tell him not to call me names when he's mad and he apologizes but will do it again.... Does anyone else's boyfriend do that?? I'm tired of him doing that I feel very disrespected and I want to be with me just don't want to put up with that anymore
