How often do rebound relationships work out?

I was my husbands rebound in a way~ we are Mormon, so this the following will make a bit more sense:

He had a girlfriend before leaving on his two-year mission to NY, and near the past 6 months of that? She started to date someone else when she had promised to 'wait for him'.

He literally found out two weeks before coming home about everything and found out she was going to be getting married near December.

I had come home early November from Korea and met up with him again through a drive-thru as I was working. XD Couldn't believe he remembered me after so long and we weren't really close during High School.

But he came to my homecoming talk, heard me sing a song, and felt that I was the one he was going to marry.

XD The rest is basically history! Now we are married and expecting our first here in January!

Sometimes~ -^^- people really are just lucky and fortunate that way.

A "rebound" almost never works. But atleast imo you can't classify someone as a rebound just based on the amount of time that has passed since the last relationship ended. You could be a rebound when the other person has been single for two years and you could also NOT be a rebound when the person has only been single for a week. Depends whether they still have feelings for their ex and whether they're interested in you as a person or just need to get their mind off their ex

One of my good friends found out her bf was cheating around October last year. They broke up and like a week later she hooked up with a guy and literally a week after that they were dating. They're still together now. Almost a year in. Already living together and looking to buy a house together.

I don't really consider my boyfriend a rebound but i guess others would lol. I dated my ex for 2 years and he cheated on me. I was in a bad place and I actually stayed with him, but for the last year of the relationship I wasn't happy. We broke up and about a month later I started dating a guy I had a huge crush on. That guy is my current boyfriend and we are heading on our 2 year mark :) if you still have a lot of feelings for your ex it's probably not a good idea though. I feel like it would just cause more trouble. There's nothing wrong with wanting to stay single for a while or until you're ready. But for me I was over my ex while were dating so I felt ready to date again.

I've been the rebound girl with two different guys and neither one worked out. The first guy got another girl pregnant while we were seeing each other and ended up marrying her. Hated her for awhile but now I'm friends with both of them. The second guy is currently back with his ex he was with before me and his friends are mad at him.

I guess i am my SO's rebound. We met right after his previous relationship ended and have been together ever since. We have been together 6 years and are engaged. Neither of us had intentions of being together at first because he was in a bad place emotionally from his ex that he was engaged to and to me he was just going to be a one time hook up. We ended up just being together all the time and I remember his best friend told me that he just knew that we were going to get married and that my SO was supposed to be with me and not the ex. That was years ago and here we are.
