How soon did you take your newborn out for the first time?

What did you do? What was recommended to you?

Absolutely never would take my newborn out in the first week! That's insane to me.

We did short walks around our neighborhood in the first week, plus trips to the pediatrician and lactation consultant. We've gone to the grandparent's house and a friend's home at 5w. However our doctor recommended avoiding crowded spaces like the mall, grocery store, restaurants (esp at peak times) and parties until 2mth shots. I'm glad we're waiting bc I know someone who didn't and their baby got very sick.

After 2 month vaccinations, went to church and parents house, haven't taken LO to stores or anything yet (he's 4 months now).

When you have more then one kid you still have to be on the move you cant let the older kids stay stuck in the house going stir crazy lol

I was recommended to wait 3 weeks and I totally understand why. If you think if you was a newborn just entered whole new word and noises and smells , lights . It's just hard . Baby need to adapt in peace , at home with mum cos its where baby feel safest.

Doctors say it's okay to take your newborns out for fresh air. Just stay away from large crowds and if in a car, no longer than 2hrs in the seat.

3 days old we went to breakfast 4 days old we went to a farmers market and lunch 6 days old we went to the mall. I go crazy if we are trapped in the house

I think at 2 weeks I'll take her out. Not anywhere crowded, but maybe to a nature park so I can get some fresh air lol I don't want to be cooped up for awhile

3 days old we went to target, 5 days old we had him baptised then visited family. (Visiting family was a bad call. I was so sore. Don't go out for long periods of time.)

2 days old we went to the mall... When you need preemie clothes... You gotta do what you gotta do.
