Azithromycin antibiotic, is it safe?

I could really use some advice... I am 4 weeks and 3 days pregnant and my primary care dr prescribed the antibiotic Azithromycin because she heard wheezing in my lungs from a cold I've had for about 2 weeks. She said if I want to wait it out for a few days I can or I can take the med, she said either one is a valid choice. I don't want to do anything to cause a miscarriage 😔 has anyone else taken this antibiotic in early pregnancy?

It's ok but eat yogurt! Any antibiotic can cause yeast infections and you're more prone being pregnant anyway. If I were you, I would have some Monistat on hand lol! Pesky little things, they are!

Even when is a primary Doctor knows that you are pregnant a lot of the time the don't know what it's safe or not during pregnancy. If you have an OB Dr call them and ask if it is ok for you to take it or not. Hope you feel better soon

It's fine. We use this often in pregnant women.

It's a category B, which means that while it has not been tested in pregnant women, it has been safely tested in pregnant animals and used in pregnant women, with no evidence of risk

As long as the doctor knows you're pregnant when prescribing the medication, you're fine. If you have questions, call your doc. I wouldn't trust medical advice from strangers with no medical background!!

Your doctor wouldn't of prescribed it too you if it was going to harm your baby.
